Christmas Pudding Mix

HOLMER

Holmer members enjoying a lively beetle drive. In the foreground and from the left in a clockwise direction are Margaret Powell, Faye McGill, Margaret Jones and Vera Herbert. It was the occasion of our Annual Meeting when President Jenny Hare ,after eight years , handed over the role to Mary Burgess. Jenny will continue 'wearing her other hat' as Secretary .
An enjoyable Pudding and Quiz evening was held recently. Questions were set and posed by Treasurer Jane Jenkins.
Holmer next meets on Wednesday December 5th at St. Marys Church, Grandstand Road at 7.30pm. If you're feeling festive, ladies, this is our Christmas meeting, so come along and join us.

ALLENSMORE

We were very pleased to welcome this month Di Emmett from Haven, the breast cancer support centre.  Di is the centre manager and a specialist nurse for breast cancer patients. She gave us a very informative talk on all aspects of support that the Haven offers and we were very impressed with the level of dedication and care that Di and all those at the centre provide to those in need.

There followed the 92nd Annual Meeting of Allensmore WI which was founded in 1926.
Our charity of the year has been the Hereford Hospital Special Care Baby Unit.  We have been knitting octopuses for the unit as well as raising money for it.  Carol, our treasurer has proved to be our octopi champion, knitting no less than 28 of them.
These will now be presented to the SCBU.

In December we will be having our Christmas lunch which we are looking forward to.
In January we are offering an open invite for people to join us in an afternoon of Eats and Treats when Angela Lloyd will be giving us some ideas for quick canapés and cakes followed by a culinary quiz and, most importantly, a tasting session!  We will be meeting at Pateshall Village Hall on 10th January 2019 at 2.30pm.

STOKE PRIOR & DISTRICT

Our November AGM was well attended on a lovely afternoon. The Committee remained unchanged and our President, Gill Harris was voted back in. After all the serious business members made Christmas Cards from recycled cards, ribbons, glitter etc. It was a nice meeting with members being able to chat together.

SALTMARSHE & DISTRICT

What could be better than sitting with friends, watching Gwen talk us through how to make various lovely Mocktails and then tasting each one in turn? Did we prefer the Winter Mojito to the Blueberry Margarita? Was the Blue Hawaiian or the Virgin Pina Colada going to taste as wonderful as they looked? Yes, every time, was the answer.

It all made for much merriment even though no alcohol was involved in any of the delicious offerings; meaning we could drive home with a clear conscience at the evening's end.

UPTON BISHOP

At the last meeting of Upton Bishop WI, the speaker for the evening was Marigold Farmer a trainer from TMW, Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing. This is a specially developed sequence of movements which promotes physical and emotional health and well-being.  The sequence has been carefully created and co- developed by internationally renewed Tai Chi master, Richard Farmer, together with consultant clinical and neuro psychologist Dr David Quinn.

Marigold Farmer then showed the members some of the movement which they were all able to take part in.
TMW benefits everyone of all ages from kindergarten to elderly and is an enjoyable form of exercise that’s accessible, flexible and easy. It is crucial in keeping you relaxed, healthy and full of wellbeing in body and mind.

BOSBURY

At our November AGM we welcomed Helen Poulton as our new president and Isabel Carmichael as secretary.  Isabel was warmly thanked for all her hard work as president for three years.  Francis-Jane Grey continues as treasurer.

The next meeting is on 13th December when Mike and Rachel Fenton will be leading festivities on the autoharp and dulcimer.

TUPSLEY

The AGM at TUPSLEY was attended by Cherril Watkins after which surprise entertainment followed when a troupe of 6 Laurel and Hardy ‘look-a-likes’ performed a routine to ‘Let’s twist again’. A lovely light-hearted way to end a good afternoon thanks to the ‘Carry on Sian’ entertainers. Congratulations to Judith Hollings who was re-elected President.
